Trudie Walker, former Babylon Village resident

Trudie (Gertrude) Walker, a former longtime Babylon Village resident, died at her home inDelray Beach, Florida May 23. She was 95 years old.

Mrs. Walker (nee Gertrude Vette) was married to Robert S. Walker. The couple traveled throughout the world.

"She had a long, wonderful life," said her daughter Jane Walker Moody of Newburyport, Massachusetts.

Mrs. Walker grew up in Babylon and moved to San Francisco in 1951. Later she and her husband moved to Florida. Following the death of her husband, Mrs. Walker married Alexander Scott Offutt of Washington and Delray Beach.

Mrs. Walker was a homemaker throughout her life and enjoyed playing golf and tennis.

In addition to her daughter, she is survived by two grandchildren and four great grandchildren, all of the Boston area, a stepson, Herbert Walker of Verona, Italy, and a nephew, Robert Baiter, formerly of West Islip, and now of Milan, Italy.

At her request, no funeral services were held. Mrs. Walker was cremated and her remains were scattered at sea.
