Jimmy Delano; veteran and longtime W.I. resident West Islip resident and family man Attilio "Jimmy" Delano died June 10, 2007. He was 83 years old and had lived in West Islip for 44 years. Born in Manhattan, he was a proud United States Army veteran who served during World War II. A retired mechanic, he was a self-taught carpenter who loved spending time with his grandchildren. Mr. Delano leaves behind his wife of 48 years, Roberta; his children: Denise Gorman and her husband Bryan, Donna and Donald and his wife Josephine; and his seven grandchildren.
He reposed at the Claude R. Boyd-Spencer Funeral Home, 448 West Main Street, Babylon Village. A Funeral Mass was held June 13, 2007 at Our Lady of Grace Church followed by interment at Pinelawn Memorial Park with military honors.
