BVAC announces Babylon Bayfest to be held July 25 The Babylon Village Arts Council and the Babylon Rotary Club announce the third annual Babylon Bayfest to be held Wednesday, July 25, 6 to 10 p.m. at the Babylon Village Pool, rain or shine. This family friendly evening featuring a variety of events in celebration of summer and community, will be an alcohol free event. No swimming will be permitted. This year's entertainment will include performances by well-known artists. One performer is Little Toby Walker, a unique, accomplished, fingerstyle guitar virtuoso. The singer and songwriter draws inspiration from tradition and contemporary music. He plays blues, rags and hot country picking and has performed in concert halls, festivals and coffeehouses across the United States and Europe. In addition, the evenings's events also include a performance by the trio Red Molly. Red Molly's members have diverse experiences with Laurie on vocals, guitar and banjo; Abbie, vocals, Dobro and guitar and Carolann on vocals, guitar, bass and mandolin. Also performing that night are the Boys and Girls Club Steel Drum Band of Bellport and the Positions Dance Company of Babylon. Events for the youngsters include Peter, the Paper Cutter; Joe Vissichelli, the caricaturist and other activities such as crab races, face painting, sea shell decorating and more. Local designers, Rosemary Back and Rosemary Romeo will display their crafts and creations. Watercolorists Kathy Herzy and Bill Kuchler and also painter Dave Baroncelli, will exhibit their artistic works. In addition, photographic art by Lonna Sullivan and Diana Matsen will be featured. Food vendors will serve seafood specialties and a landlubber menu along with Long Island corn. There will be the return of the Clam Shucking Contest for the Golden clam trophy and the Clam Chowder contest for the Golden Bowl trophy.
