William Rall holds Math-a-thon for St. Judes

Students at Lindenhurst's William Rall Elementary School embraced the challenge of obtaining pledges and completing a booklet or computer program of grade-appropriate math problems for the St. Jude Children's Research Hospital Math-a-thon.

The Hospital has treated children around the world who are fighting diseases like cancer, AIDS and sickle cell disease. Participation in the Math-athon enables the hospital to treat children whether their families have insurance or not. The money is also used to house families while their children are receiving medical treatment.

Math specialists Laura Birnbaum and Michelle Schor coordinated the fundraiser, which raised almost $2100. Through their hard work and this special program, Rall students are helping save the lives of children around the world.
