WI BOE trustees retire

Current West Islip Board of Education Vice President Barbara McAteer, right, and former President Kevin Micucci are retiring from their positions July 1, after nine and 12 years respectively. During the June 14, regularly-scheduled public session, Trustees took turns thanking the outgoing members and affectionately recalling favorite moments throughout the years.

Shown with Micucci and McAteer is Trustee Sharon Bieselin, who stated, " This school district and community owe you a great deal of gratitude for your many accomplishments." On July 2, newly-elected Board members Annmarie LaRosa and Eliot Bloom will take their seats. The public is invited to this re-organization meeting at 7:30 p.m. in the West Islip High School auditorium.
