Sumpwams Garden Club meets

The Sumpwams Garden Club is having an eventful spring. The May meeting's program was Designs for our Standard Flower Show with Laura McLaughlin as the speaker. The Secret Garden was a fingertip luncheon chaired by Antoinette Maironini held on May 14. The Standard Flower Show was held June 8 and 9 at the West Islip Library and was entitled The Gilded Lily. This was also chaired by Antoinette Maironini. Members winning various awards for designs and horticulture were Ada Catalano, Kitty Graziano, Joan Rasmussen, Marie Capitano, Jean Zeller, Cindy Baxter and Jane Muchmore. Club members also donated floral arrangements for West Islip Library's 50th anniversary celebration.

An upcoming event is the annual plant auction to be held in the garden at Marie Skelley's home. Guests are always welcome. For further information, call 631-422-2901.
