Robert Frost students in Deer Park get cozy with creatures
      Shown in the photo are seventh graders in Dean Militello's science class at Robert Frost Middle School in Deer Park displaying their "creatures" project. The students are learning about metamorphosis and how to classify organisms based on their physical characteristics.

      Babylon: The Babylon softball team earned the third seed in the Class B playoffs, but was eliminated by No. 2 Port Jefferson in a 6-4 loss. The Panthers finished the season 15-5. They lost when Port Jeff's Megan MacKenzie hit a walk-off threerun home run in the bottom of the seventh.

Local resident named MVP
      At Dartmouth College, Hanover, New Hampshire, senior tri-captain Ryan O'Connor of Babylon, was presented the Big Green's defensive MVP award for the second straight season. A four-year letter winner, he started all 15 games for Dartmouth this spring, including 30 for 32 in the past three seasons.
