Lindenhurst students practice kindness
Throughout the weeks, fifth graders in Mr. Connell's class helped third graders in Ms. Bressi's class. Students wrote kind comments, read books, and exchanged "kindness coins." In addition, students teamed up to write letters of appreciation to staff members that are sometimes overlooked: kitchen staff, custodial staff, school nurses, secretaries, and principal Mr. Epstein. Each group hand delivered the letters with personalized pictures. "The students got huge smiles and thank you hugs from the recipients," said Bressi. "How easy it is to brighten someone's day." William Rall Elementary fifth and third graders team up to write letters of appreciation for "Random Acts of Kindness" weeks.
