Former Babylon resident named senior political reporter

ABC News recently named Rick Klein as a senior political reporter and author of the new version of The Note which launched May 2. He will contribute political stories to all ABC News broadcasts and platforms including analysis and political coverage on ABCNews.com throughout the day.

Klein joins ABC News from The Boston Globe where he covered Congress and national politics. He joined the Globe in 2000. Prior to coming to Washington in 2004 to cover the Bush-Cheney campaign, Klein covered the Massachusetts State House and Boston City Hall. He previously worked as a metro reporter at The Dallas Morning News. A native of Long Island, Klein graduated with a degree in politics from Princeton University, where he served as editor-in-chief o The Daily Princetonian. He lives on Capitol Hill with his wife Laine.

The Note, which was created by ABC news analyst and former political director Mark Halperin, relaunched on ABC News.com/Politics with a new voice and a somewhat different format. The New Yorker magazine call The Note " the most influential morning tip sheet in Washington" and it will continue to be the best insider's guide to what is happening in politics and why.

Klein is a 1994 graduate of Babylon High School.
