West Islip Board of Education recognizes outstanding athletes
Student recognition was held during the April meeting of the West Islip Board of Education. Praised for outstanding athletic accomplishments were Patrick Bell, All-County Varsity Wrestling; Rod Alzmann, Dennis Faherty and John Badolato for All-County and All-State Boys Varsity Winter Track; Andrew Culmo, All-County, All-Long Island and All-State Boys Varsity Swimming & Diving; and Michael Cantante for All-County Boys Varsity Bowling. Also honored were Nick Grieco as Coach of the Year for Girls Junior Varsity Soccer and Sal Alaimo as League II Coach of the Year.
