Three assault and rob local cab driver

One suspect was caught on security camera shortly after the crime.
A driver for Sunset Taxi was assaulted and robbed in West Babylon April 15. Police gave this account:

At approximately 2:12 a.m., three men approached the driver and asked for a ride to Bishop Road, West Babylon. At the intersection of Belmont and Columbus Avenues, the driver was instructed to pull to the side of the road. One male suspect put the driver into a headlock and demanded his money. After the driver complied, he was punched in the face several times by all three suspects, who then fled.

Police said one subject was a tall Black male in his late teens who was wearing dark clothing and dark baseball

cap. Suspect two was described as a short black Hispanic male also in his late teens. He was wearing a red sweatshirt. Suspect three was a Black or Hispanic male, late teens, wearing dark clothing.

Police are

asking that anyone with information on the suspects or the incidents to call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-220-TIPS. All calls will be kept confidential and the caller will be eligible for a cash reward for information that leads to an arrest.
