West Babylon Girl Scout joins the 1,000 Club

West Babylon's South Bay School fifth grader Sarah Doyle was featured on the cover of the March 2007 issue of Happenings, the official magazine of Girl Scouts of Suffolk County. A dedicated Girl Scout since kindergarten, Sarah is a member of the exclusive 1,000 Club, reserved for those Scouts who demonstrate extraordinary achievement by selling at least 1,000 boxes of Girl Scout cookies.

Sarah began as a Daisy Scout six years ago, and has worked her way up to a Junior Scout in Troop 1505 in West Babylon. She has earned about 25 badges, and learned skills such as how to be a good babysitter, and how to do CPR. Sarah has also participated in Operation Cookie, which sent Girl Scout cookies to the troops overseas. In addition, Sarah is recipient of the Bronze Award pin for her work in community service and her study of international cultures.

Sarah will attend Girl Scout summer camp this year, where she will learn acting. She intends to continue scouting up through her senior year in high school.

Shown in the photo, South Bay student and Girl Scout Sarah Doyle proudly displays her cover photo.
