Babylon Art Council announces winners of its annual photography competition

Photographers from all across Long Island were invited to enter the Babylon Art Council's 4th annual Photography Competition and Show, which took place the week of April 23. The show was held in the Greenley Library of Farmingdale State College.

The competition was open to all photographers working in the following mediums: black & white, color or montage and student submitted work. Photographers could submit from one to three pieces.

The selected pieces were displayed and judged throughout the week, and an awards reception was held Friday evening.

The winners are:

+Best in Show: Rita Wiegand, Electric Slide

+Supervisor's Award: Andrew M. Kurchey,

Robert Moses Bridge

+Color: first - Rashada St. Louis, Coco Nuts; second - Craig Robbins Max Runs Down the Path; third - Craig Robbins , Boys in the Bay and honorable mention - Carissa Agnello, Living.

+Black and White: first - Michael Witten, Bridge; second - Craig Robbins, Max Eyeing You;

third - William Grabowski, Through the Fog and honorable mention - Evan Reinheimer, Untitled

+Mixed Media first - William Grabowski , The Picnic; second - Trudy L. Runyan, Tulip Bouquet; third- Robert A. Glick, Passageway and honorable mention - Carol Bergh, A Banner Day.

+Viewer's choice - tie between Jeanne Incantalupo After War and Bridgette Krauss Ducks At Belmont.

Shown in the photo is the winner of the Supervisor's Award for his photograph Robert Moses Bridge, Andrew Kurchey, and the Executive Director of the Babylon Arts Council Ray Zaccaro.
