Annual Americana Fair to be held in Islip Town on June 9

Islip Town Supervisor Phil Nolan invites everyone to celebrate our American heritage at the Town's annual Americana Fair, to be held Saturday, June 9, 10 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. at the Islip Grange, corner Montauk Highway and Broadway Avenue in Sayville. Admission is free. The rain date is Sunday,June 10.

"This is a great opportunity for families to enjoy a day out, see their neighbors, sample some food, listen to great music and even learn something about crafts," said Supervisor Nolan.

There will be music, entertainment and children's games, along with demonstrations of quilting and various crafts. Participants can visit more than 150 vendors' booths and see wood and floral crafts, needlework and culinary items, many of which are available for sale. Pony rides, face painting, a petting zoo and performances by the Islip Horsemen's Association Drill Team will be featured.

Musical entertainment will be continuous, with Don Cunnius performing from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. and Southbound on stage from 1:30 to 4:30 p.m.
