Good Sam welcomes new Chairman of Emergency Med

Adhi Sharma, MD, recently joined the staff of Good Samaritan Hospital Medical Center as the Chairman of Emergency Medicine. In this role, Dr. Sharma will be responsible for providing leadership and accountability for the pediatric and adult emergency department, as well as the emergency medicine residency program. He will oversee clinical

shifts, performance improvement, lecturing and creating an environment of education for all staff members.

Dr. Sharma attended New York Medical College and interned at Winthrop-University Hospital. He completed his residency at Albert Einstein/Jacobi Medical Center. He also completed a Toxicology fellowship at New York University/Bellevue and the New York City Poison Control Center. Prior to joining Good Samaritan, he was employed at Bellevue Medical Center, Elmhurst Hospital Center and Victory Memorial Hospital where he served as Director of Emergency Medicine.

"It is my desire to see the Emergency Department function harmoniously with other departments in the hospital in an effort to create an environment that is conducive to patient care. This will benefit not only the patient, but also the referring physicians as well as the staff of the Emergency Department," stated Dr. Sharma.

Dr. Sharma resides in Manhasset Hills with his wife Emily and their two sons, Kannen, age three, and Jaydin, age one.
