Babylon American Legion holds Poppy Drive
The American Legion Auxiliary of Babylon Post 94 began its Poppy Drive, Friday evening, May 4 with the presentation of its "Poppy Girl" Caitlain Albarella. Caltlain also was presented at the general meeting of Babylon American Legion Post 94 for its members to donate and receive a Poppy. Members of Babylon Auxiliary will be out in the community throughout the month of May distributing Poppies. The Poppy is a simple red flower made by hospitalized veterans. The Poppy reminds all Americans of the service that our men and women gave to our country to defend the freedoms we enjoy today. All donations received from the Poppy Drive are used for the Veterans Affairs and Rehabilitation program as well as the Children and Youth Program. The Poppy Drive concludes on Memorial Day where members will be out along the parade route distributing the Poppies. Please remember our Veterans, wear a "Poppy," help a veterans.
