Frank De Molfetto: longtime Islip resident Longtime Islip resident and U.S. Army soldier Francis "Frank" J. De Molfetto died April 16, 2007. He was 77 years old and loved best to spend time with his many children and grandchildren. Born June 24, 1929 in Brooklyn to Sergio and Anna Maria (Napletano), he served in the Army from 1951 to 1952 then joined the Reserves and served for an additional five years. Mr. De Molfetto, a trucker employed by Consolidated Freightways in Deer Park, was an Off Track Betting enthusiast who loved to play cards and spend time with his family. He leaves behind his wife Catherine; his children: Ann Marie Murphy and her husband William of Sayville, Cynthia Sansone and her husband Joseph of San Remo, New York, Thomas and his wife Lori of Centereach, Rachel and her companion Mark Ferber of Blue Point, Karla Waldron and her husband Thomas of Islip, Michelle Powell and her hus- band William of East Islip, Robert Alese and his wife Darlene of Mastic Beach and Lori Fritzen of her husband Donald of Copiague; his seventeen grandchildren; one great grandchild; his siblings: Philomena Russo of Selden, Elizabeth Giordano and Angela Sansone both of Yorba Linda, California and Mario of Bakersfield, California; as well as many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his first wife, Mildred, his brother, Tally and his sister, Pasquelina Lavenia. A prayer service was conducted at the Powell Funeral Home in Amityville on April 18, 2007. Father Steve Peterson, pastor of St. Mary's R.C. Church, East Islip, officiated at a Mass of Christian burial followed by interment in Pinelawn Memorial Park with Military Honors.
