Deer Park HS to host spaghetti dinner May 21

A dinner to benefit the Backpack Buddies program will take place on Monday, May 21 at 5:00 p.m. in the Deer Park High School Cafe.

Students at Deer Park High School will be hosting their first annual Deer Park High School spaghetti dinner on Monday, May 21, at the High School, 30 Rockaway Ave. to benefit Chartwells' Backpack Buddies program. The Backpack program is designed to help feed hungry children nationwide and distributes more than 35,000 backpacks filled with food each week.

With the help of Chartwells, the District's food service provider, Deer Park students are hoping to raise approximately $1,200 to purchase nearly 200 food-filled backpacks. The first annual spaghetti dinner will be held in the Deer Park High School cafeteria, beginning at 5 p.m. on May 21. Tickets are $6.00 for adults and $4.00 for children. Donations of any amount are also welcome. All proceeds from the spaghetti dinner will be used to purchase and distribute backpacks to hungry children.

Those attending will enjoy an extensive menu of Italian delicacies, ranging from antipasto to spaghetti bolognese. The entire community is invited to attend.
