Islip Town Supervisor launches first ever Street Sweeping Schedule and online access

Islip Town Supervisor Phil Nolan recently launched the Town's first scheduled street sweeping program, which residents can access on the Town's website at www.townofislip-ny.gov. Although street sweeping has always been a part of the Town's role, this is the first time the Town has committed to a sector-by-sector sweeping schedule and published the schedule for residents. A map of the sector schedule is available on the Town's site and can be accessed via the Public Notice area on the home page.

This administration is committed to providing our residents with exceptional service, including improvements to services as basic as street sweeping," said Nolan. "If people know what they can expect and when, it will also help them to plan to move their cars off the street on that day so their street can be fully swept. It's simple stuff, but it's important to people."

In the event of extremes of weather that might prevent sweeping on a given day during the spring schedule, the schedule will default to the next upcoming Friday. For further information, residents can access the Town's website or call the Department of Public Works at 631-224-5600.
