Good Samaritan Hospital receives generous donation

Roomors Gifts in Babylon recently presented a donation to Good Samaritan Hospital Medical Center. The funds, raised from the sale of its annual ornament, were designated for the Pediatric Emergency Department.

Pat Turner, the owner of Roomors Gifts designs a new ornament each year for the benefit of a local charity. In past years, proceeds have benefited the Babylon Fire Department and the Babylon Breast Cancer Coalition.

The Pediatric Emergency Department at Good Samaritan, among the busiest on Long Island, treated more than 24,000 patients in 2006. Comprised of 12- beds and an asthma treatment unit, board certified pediatricians provide staffing around the clock. The specialized staff understands that children are not little adults, but special people with unique needs.

Shown holding the Good Samaritan ornament is Chairperson of the Pediatric Intensive Care Unit/ Associate Chairperson of Pediatrics Catherine G. Caronia, MD, and Pat Turner.
