Belmont Lake to host walk for asthma May 5 Time is running out to register or make a donation to the "Blow the Whistle on Asthma" 4th annual 5K Walk, at Belmont Lake State Park in Babylon on Saturday, May 5 Registration will begin at 8:30 a.m. and the walk will begin at 10 a.m. "The Walk is a great day for families and friends to rally together for a great cause," said Nicole Baronek, community outreach manager for the American Lung Association of New York State. "We hope that everyone in the community will come out to support our efforts by either walking or making a donation." The festivities for the day of the walk will include a performance by the Girl Scouts of Nassau County Chorus, a pre-walk warm-up lead by Christina Finkel, the Worldstar Fitness Organization's USA Gold Medalist and Miss FIT Teen National Champion, photography by BBA Photography Corporation, bouncy rides and children's characters by Inflatable by Marty and vendors including Ben and Jerry's, Starbucks and FUZE beverages. WBLI will also be on hand at the event. The American Lung Association of New York State, through research, public health advocacy and education works to promote lung health and prevent lung disease across New York State.
