Deer Park gets a dose of reality with "Swallow This!" program
Eighth graders at the Robert Frost Middle School in Deer Park recently attended a theatrical performance by Stony Brook University students depicting common challenges many young people experience in real life. Swallow This! is a program developed by the Student Health Service at Stony Brook University from actual stories and experiences related by college students. Challenges such as dealing with difficult peer relations, drug and alcohol abuse and opposing parental advice were all realistically portrayed by the Stony Brook University student players. Following this, the program offered positive solutions to these issues.
