Long Island Blood Services elect new chair
Kevin Dahill, president/CEO of the Nassau-Suffolk Hospital Council (NSHC), which represents Long Island's 24 not-forprofit and public hospitals, was named chair of the hospital division for Long Island Blood Services. His term ends in 2008. Dahill is a resident of Stony Brook.
As chair, Dahill will rally support among hospitals, encouraging facilities to hold blood drives and other educational venues to raise awareness about the need for blood and blood products. Hospitals depend on an adequate and continuous supply of blood to render care in both emergency and non-emergency situations.
Long Island Blood Services is a division of the New York Blood Center. To donate blood, schedule a blood drive, or for more information call 516-478-5012 or go to www.nybloodcenter.org.
