West Islip High School ceremony to be held May 18 The West Islip High School Athletic Hall of Fame Committee is sponsoring its Fifth Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony to be held Friday, May 18. The purpose of the Athletic Hall of Fame is to honor the many outstanding athletes and dedicated coaches as well as the great contributions made to the program by members of the community and administrators. This year's ceremony will honor 16 outstanding former athletes, two coaches who led some of the school's most successful teams, as well as the honorary induction of three dedicated members of the West Islip community. The actual induction ceremony will take place at West Islip High School at 6 p.m. with a dinner to follow at Captain Bill's. The price of the ticket is $60 per person. The committee is also accepting donations to help defray the cost of the dinner and ceremony. Checks can be made payable to the West Islip Athletic Booster Club and sent to: J. Hall of Fame inductees for 2007 are as follows: Athletes: Matt Botz- class of 1995, Chris Brodmerkel - class of 1995, Tanya Carbone-Pfaffe - class of 1990, Scott Coppo - class of 1995, James DeVivo - class of 1996, Jim Klimkoski - class of 1996, Colleen Lefferts - class of 1995, Steve Paladino - class of 1981, Jill Pessani-Rorech - class of 1990, Rob Relinger - class of 1996, Mindy Renner-Pfaffe - class of 1995, David Rubano - class of 1996, Jim Ryan - class of 1969, Anthony Scorcia - class of 1990, Jonah Shierant - class of 1996 and Rich Williams - class of 1968; Coaches honored are Duane Green and Tony Mellino and Honorary inductees are Tony Coppo, Edie Mellino and Ron Riccio.
