Islip Art Museum announces open call to begin June 6

The Islip Art Museum has issued an open call for artwork for consideration in the exhibition Free Play. Judith Page, an artist, critic, independent curator, will serve as guest curator for Free Play. The exhibition will be on view from June 20 to September 9. An artist's reception is scheduled for Sunday, July 29, 1 to 4 p.m.

Work for consideration must be delivered to the Islip Art Museum, 50 Irish Ln., East Islip on Wednesday, June 6; Thursday, June 7; Friday, June 8 or Saturday, June 9, 10:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. There is no charge to submit work for consideration.

Artists may submit one work, in either two or three dimensions, in any medium, for possible inclusion by the curator, who welcomes both traditional and innovative approaches to the subject, which explores the realms of fantasy, enchantment and dreams. The curator is especially interested in mythological worlds, improbable imagery, hallucinations and apparitions.

Artists can visit the museum's web site at islipartmuseum.org for additional information.
