Peace is to be found in military strength

Dear Editor:

Peace will be won with a strong military and politicians that will back the use of necessary force. Five thousand years of history have shown that a a nation must respond to an act of war. The United States' President should have responded with force after the first bombing of the World Trade Center in 1993.

Back in 1935 America and our Allies should have stopped Hitler in Europe and Tojo in Asia. We had a small military at that time and diplomacy failed to prevent World War II. As a result 236,000 of our troops were killed during that war.

Today the road to peace will be won with total victory in Iraq and the Middle East. We must take the fight to our enemy as they are out to kill each and every one of us. After we achieve total victory it will be time to talk to our enemy. Five thousand years of history tell us that. There are not short cuts to peace. As in the past we will have peace along with blood, sweat and tears.
