Read Across America celebrated at Lindenhurst Middle School

Read Across America was celebrated at the Lindenhurst Middle School library on Friday, March 2 by having 14 guest readers read selected stories, poems, essays, or Dr. Seuss books to the students throughout the day. It was a special opportunity to share the love of reading with the Middle School students.

The program is sponsored by the National Educational Association (NEA) to honor Dr. Seuss' birthday. It is the 50th anniversary of when his most famous book The Cat in the Hat was published. This is the 10th anniversary of the program.

Teachers and staff were invited to have birthday cake and coffee or tea. Librarian Liz Wood who coordinated the special day.
