William Kolb, of West Islip, automobile enthusiast

William Kolb, a longtime resident of West Islip, died January 19, 2007. He was 44 years old.

Born in Queens, he spent most of his life on the South Shore in West Islip. According to his family, he was a professional car mechanic who also loved to tinker with cars in his spare time.

He loved the outdoors and spent much time on the beach, fishing and four-wheeling.

Mr. Kolb leaves behind his beloved children: Destiny of Lake Ronkonkoma and Cody of New Jersey; his mother, Ann; his siblings: Joe of New Mexico and Ellen of West Islip; his nieces and nephews: Jessica, Joanne, Steven, Vincent and John; as well as other loved ones and friends. He is predeceased by his father, John and his great nephews Wyatt Scotch and Sonny Wyatt.

He reposed at the Lang Tobia DiPalma Funeral Home in West Islip on January 22, 2007, followed by private cremation.
