Police arrest three youths for drug possession in Babylon

Nassau County's 7th Precinct officers arrested three Babylon youths March 10, charging them with criminal possession of controlled substances. Police gave this account:

At approximately 11:30 p.m., police stopped a black GMC SUV on Melrose Place, Massapequa for a traffic law violation. As officers approached the vehicle, they observed a passenger, later identified as Joseph Grangione, 21, of 191 W. 4th St., Deer Park, place two clear plastic bags containing a white powdery substance that appeared to be cocaine into a Doritos bag, which he then placed on the floor behind his seat. Frangione was placed under arrest and as the investigation continued, they discovered that two other passengers were in possession of pills believed to be percocet, vicodin and xanex.

Frangione was charged with criminal possession of a controlled substance, 5th degree and was arraigned in First District Court Sunday, March 11. Erin Szuflada, 18, of 426 President Pl., West Babylon and Keri Ann Goss, 18, of 14 Walbridge Ave., Babylon were both in possession of pills and were charged with criminal possession of a controlled substance, 7th degree and are to be arraigned in First District Court in Hempstead March 28. The operator of the vehicle, whose name was not listed by police, was issued a ticket for failure to signal and three other passengers were released to their parents.
