State recognition for Bay Shore teachers

Teachers Christina Mayott (MS) and Sean Cummiskey (HS) have been recognized as Teachers of Excellence by the New York State English Council. This prestigious award is based upon a portfolio submitted including recommendations by administrators, teachers, and students, as well as sample lesson plans and student work. These fine educators demonstrate outstanding teaching practices with consistent delivery of ELA standards-based instruction. Mrs. Mayott's and Mr. Cummiskey's classrooms are creative, student-centered learning environments in which children are continuously motivated to succeed.

With a solid knowledge of content matter and use of best practices teaching techniques, Christina and Sean are considered leaders among their colleagues. We are indeed fortunate to have such dedicated and talented professionals working in the Bay Shore School District.
