Easter service at Babylon Village gazebo

The center of Babylon Village is graced with Argyle Lake and Park. Just south of the waterfalls at the head of the canal stands a stately gazebo. No wonder this area of town is a popular location for festivals, fairs and gatherings. On August 25, 1985, the Village of Babylon and the Babylon Beautification Society dedicated this gazebo to the community. For years the Babylon Village Gazebo has served as a venue for many summertime concerts and annual events.

Did you know the gazebo has also been the home of a community Easter dawn service for over 20 years now. This non-denominational Easter celebration was started by clergy in the Babylon area as an outreach to all people. Each year people from the community gather to hear again the Easter story and join in song and prayer. Afterward, all are welcome at a Dutchtreat breakfast at a local diner.

The service begins at 6:30 a.m. on Easter Sunday, April 8, 2007. Rev. Conrad J. Strauch of St. Paul's Reformed Church in North Babylon will be officiating. For any information call 631-661-5562.
