Thirteen from Babylon H.S. are nominees for Boys/Girls/State Program

Thirteen students have been selected as finalists in the Boys/Girls State Program. They will now move on to be interviewed by the American Legion and American Legion Auxiliary Selection Committees to determine who will actually participate in Boys/Girls State. The students were ranked by faculty polls according to leadership, character, scholarship, service, citizenship, integrity and personality. The nominees are Patrick Flanagan, Sean Gargiulo, Alex Grant, Ryan Katz, Yining Shao, William Vukovich, Donald Werner, Christina Halpin, Shannon O'Malley, Colleen Pisciotta, Ul Weena, Alexandra Weldon and Gabriella Wilkins.

Boys' State and Girls' State are summer leadership and citizenship programs sponsored by The American Legion and the American Legion Auxiliary for high school students between their junior and senior years. Boys and Girls State programs are held in each of the U.S. states (excluding Hawaii), usually on a college campus within that state.
