Babylon Village elections this Tuesday

Despite the lack of a political challenge, three Babylon Village Board members- Mayor Ralph Scordino and Trustees Debbie Basile and Tony Davida- have reached out to the public over the past two months, garnering support for their reelection. The vote takes place Tuesday, March 20 and the polls are open from 7 a.m. to 9 p.m. Absentee ballot applications can be picked up at the Village Clerk's office, 153 West Main St., during regular business hours until March 19, and must be returned to the Village Clerk's office prior to the closing of the polls on March 20.

The three candidates are running under the Better Babylon Party banner and got off to a solid start in January when the party held its caucus, nominating them and sending volunteers out to collect signatures for their petitions. The candidates themselves held coffee klatches and knocked on doors asking residents for their input and support.

"Everyone from the elected officials to the clerical staff, to those workers out in the streets picking up the garbage, have a big interest in this Village and help make it great," said Scordino the night he was nominated.

Scordino has served for 4 and a half years as Mayor and was a Village Trustee in the administration of E. Donald Conroy prior to that. Basile has served for your years, and Davida have served for four and a half years. They are seeking four-year terms.
