Our Lady of Consolation's resident commissioned as Eucharistic Minister

Shown in the photo is resident Bernie Winters and his family.
On February 25, 92 year-old Bernie Winters, a resident at Our Lady of Consolation, West Islip, was commissioned as a Eucharistic Min- ister. Winters underwent training with Sr. Sheila Browne, RSM, of the Diocesan Office of Worship and Peggy Nixdorf, Chaplin at Our

Lady of Consolation. Winters is now able to bring communion to other residents in the facility that are unable to attend Mass. The commissioning ceremony was attended by many of Winter's family. His children were very much touched to be able to receive communion from their father. Following Mass, a reception was held for Winters, his family and friends.
