West Islip School District celebrates PTA Founders' Day

West Islip School District celebrated the 110th anniversary of the founding of PTA in New York State, the largest and oldest volunteer organization working exclusively on behalf of children. Among the purposes of the PTA is to foster a closer relationship between home and school so that parents and teachers may cooperate intelligently in the education of students. This month, West Islip School District celebrated the PTA anniversary with a dinner at the high school, which was attended by over 200 guests, and by presenting a number of dedicated workers with the coveted lifetime PTA membership.

Shown in the photo are scenes from the festivities.
