Stop World Hunger annual Tennis Tournament to be held April 1 and June 10

Stop World Hunger, Inc. welcomes recreational tennis players from all across Long Island to participate in its 27th year of tennis activities. It' s an opportunity to have some fun and contribute to an important cause. Funds are raised to help Catholic Relief Services feed God's hungry children in 99 countries wherever the need is greatest. Also, canned food is collected for those who are hungry on Long Island.

First up is the Stop World Hunger Tennis Party which will take place Saturday evening, March 17. The cost is $15 for the evening and includes two hours of tennis play as well as refreshments. The Tennis party will take place at Carefree Racquet club in North Merrick. Reservations are required.

The annual Stop World Hunger Spring Tennis Tournament will take place between April 1 and June 10. Events consist of men's singles, women's singles, men's doubles, women's doubles and mixed doubles. Divisions are set up based upon registration, ability level and geographic location. Players schedule their own round-robin, no elimination matches at mutually convenient times and sites.

The cost of the tournament is $6 for singles and $10 for doubles. The deadline for registration is Friday, March 23.
