At the Conklin House Deer Park kindergarten registration March 5 to 9

Jim Hawkins, the Irish Story Teller, will perform at the Conklin House, Deer Park Venue, Babylon, Sunday, March 11, 3:30 to 5 p.m. Reservations are a must and you should call 631-669-8164.

This will be a return engagement for Mr. Hawkins, who entertained last March at the Conklin House before an enthusiastic audience.

Hawkins mixes stories with songs, often combining the two. His stories can be humorous or serious, with some drawn on his own memories and experiences, having grown up in County Westmeath, Ireland. He has performed at many libraries and art centers throughout the area, as well as acting in a number of Arena Players productions.

Hawkins is a former English teacher from Deer Park.

The Deer Park School District is holding its annual registration for Deer Park families wishing to enroll their children in kndergarten for the 2007-08 school year. Registration will be held from Monday, March 5 to Friday, March 9, at the Abraham Lincoln School, 300 Park Ave. Deer Park,.

For Students attending John Quincy Adams School, registration will be held on March 5 to 9, 9 a.m. to noon at Abraham Lincoln School. Evening registration (By Appointment Only) will also be held at Abraham Lincoln School, Wednesday, March 7, 6 to 9 p.m.

For Students attending May Moore School, r egistration will be held on March 5 to 9. 1 to 4 p.m. at Abraham Lincoln School. Evening registration (By Appointment Only) will also be held at Abraham Lincoln School, Wednesday, March 7, 6 to 9 p.m.

Evening hours will be available by appointment only for those who cannot attend during the day. Please call Nancy in Central Registration at 631-274-4372 between the hours of 8 a.m. and 4 p.m. to schedule an evening appointment.

Only students who will be five years of age by December 1, 2007 are eligible to attend Kindergarten in the 2007-08 school year. Applications for Kindergarten registration are now available in the Central Registration Office located at Abraham Lincoln School, as well as the John Quincy Adams School, 172 Old Country Rd., Deer Park; and May Moore School, 239 Central Ave., Deer Park.

Please Note: If it is determined that your child is (or has been) illegally attending the Deer Park Schools, the District will seek tuition reimbursement for the entire period of enrollment.
