West Islip Boys Winter Track Team wins League II Championship
The West Islip Boys Winter Track Team won the League II Championship at Suffolk Community College. Coach Sal Alaimo reports that notable in play were: John Badolato first in 3200 meter with a 9:57.4, second in mile with a 4:39.9; Dan Gargaro third in 3200 meter with a 10:07; Rod Alzmann first in the 600 meter with a 1:26; David Kastner with a first in the 55 hurdles with a 8.00 and a first in the high jump with 5'10; Brendan Frodell first in long jump with 20'11 (school record); Dennis Faherty first in shot put with 57'7 (school record); Vincent Paladino, Brian Doxey, Rod Alzmann, and Brendan Frodell coming in first in the 4x400.Total point score, West Islip 106; Bay Shore 79.5 and Commack 65
