Babylon Class of 2009 gives to VA Hospital patients

During the past few weeks, canisters and boxes around Babylon Village collected both items and funds for Babylon High School sophomore class's Veterans' Care Basket Drive. With monetary contributions totaling $250 and many donated items, the students were able to make over 60 gift bags for our U.S. veterans. The items in the gift bags included necessities such as bar soap, shampoo, toothpaste and shaving cream, as well as leisure items such as books, puzzle books and playing cards.

On the Thursday before Christmas weekend, cabinet members and advisors went to the Nursing Home Building at the VA Hospital inNorthport to deliver the gift bags. They personally gave the bags to many of the patients, also wishing them a happy holiday season and thanking them for their noble service to our country.

The risk these veterans took is appreciated by the Babylon community, is responsible for donating the needed items and funds.
