      Longtime West Islip resident Joseph Maniaci was a wizard with scissors and a legend for cutting hair. For 85 years he lopped off tons of hair in his own shop in Ozone Park, Queens and then part time in West Islip until he was 91 years old. Mr. Maniaci died January 22, 2007 at the age of 96.
