Lindenhurst students recognized for Community Service

T w e n t y - eight students from the Lindenhurst School District were recognized with Presidential S e r v i c e Awards, given to students who completed at least 50 hours of community service. Students were honored at the November PTA Council meeting, where Assemblyman Bob Sweeney presented certificates to the recipients. He stated, "Of all the school districts I represent, there are none that recognize the great number of student volunteers that Lindenhurst does."

Students who received bronze distinction, meaning they completed 50- 74 hours of community service were: Angela Angieri, Alyssa Berrent, Bryan Berrent, Kelly Errico, Stephanie Fodera, Brett Keeler, Kyle Keeler, Sean Keicher, Emily Koehler, Dana Kennedy, Ronald Kennedy, Michael Lettow, Rachel Moyer, Kailee Puk, Gus Sargentini, Sydne Spinella, Samantha Stettnisch, and Kelly Weingaertner.

The following students received silver distinction, having completed between 75- and 99 hours of community service: Brittany Berrent, Justin Connor English, Kimberly Harrell, Zacheary Harrell, and Mary Meloro.

Students who performed over 100 hours of community service were awarded with gold distinction. They are: Courtney Keohler, Elizabeth Mackey, Nicholas Smith, and Hope Dunbar.
