West Islip HS student senate holds coat drive

The West Islip High School Stud e n t Senate's annual coat drive collected over 1,000 coats this year, for those in need, which went to the Wyndanch Community Center. The Center had contacted the stu- dents requesting their help in meeting the tremendous need for coats. Students advertised their coat drive and collected them all within two weeks. Mike Porcelli and Derek Speziale brought in the most contributions with 168 and 148 coats, respectively. Mike was awarded a $200 gift certificate from the Princeton Ski Shop and Derek was presented with $100 from the Senate for their efforts.
