Department of Correctional Services looking for new officers

Assemblyman Andrew Raia (R,C,I,WF-East Northport) recently announced the State Department of Correctional Services is looking for new officers and will be holding an examination on April 14. The filing deadline for this examination is February 26.

"I strongly encourage the talented men and women from Long Island to consider these positions with the Department of Correctional Services," said Raia. "This is an excellent opportunity if you are looking for a challenging, rewarding and public service-oriented career."

A Correction Officer Trainee's starting salary is currently $34,329 per year. After successful completion of the one-year Correction Officer Traineeship, the salary increases to $41,348 per year.
