Eva Rossitto: gifted singer and consummate volunteer

Longtime West Babylon resident and gifted musician, Eva V. Rossitto died peacefully December 24, 2006. She was 99 years old, just four months shy of her 100th birthday.

Mrs. Rossitto lived in West Babylon for 60 years and was was well known for her dramatic soprano voice and performed light opera and classical selections in many nursing homes to the delight of residents.

She also dedicated herself tirelessly to volunteer work and logged more than 12,000 hours at Good Samaritan Hospital and other locales.

Mrs. Rossitto, who also lived in Fort Walton Beach, Florida, leaves behind her children: Robert, William, Roger, Paul and Eve Cynthia DiMaria; her grandchildren; her great grandchildren; as well as other loved ones and friends. She was predeceased by her husband of 70 years, Vincent Santo and her son, Vincent Emil.

Mrs. Rossitto reposed at the Boyd-Spencer Funeral Home, Babylon, on December 27, 2006. A Funeral Mass was held at St. Joseph's Catholic Church on December 28 followed by interment at St. Charles Cemetery.
