Deer Park students to attend college humanities program

Deer Park High School sophomores Christopher Wankel, Josephine Williams, Melissa Bares, Dennis Ryan and Eric Wuu were selected to participate in Civic Performance, a humanities program that will be held November 15 to 18 at Stony Brook University. This public conference will address issues central to the future of Long Island, such as the environment, sustainable development and youth at risk. Students will learn about the problems facing our communities and meet the community advocates working to solve them. The students were chosen based on their demonstration of leadership and service.
