West Islip boys lacrosse ring ceremony held

The West Islip boys varsity lacrosse team received its State Championship Rings recently. All 40 members of the 2006 State Championship Team were in attendance, including those currently attending college, reports Coach Scott Craig. It was a special night as this is the first boys' team to win a state championship in the 50-year history of West Islip High School athletics. Approximately 250 parents, family, friends and students attended the ceremony. "It was a great opportunity for the entire team to get together, which was the first time since last spring," says the coach, who adds, "This was truly a cooperative effort."
