Top 20 scholar athletes in the nation
The Bay Shore Girls' Varsity Softball Team once again displayed excellence in the classroom, as well as on the playing field. It was r e c e n t l y named one of the Top 20 Academic Teams in the nation. The team had an overall GPA of 3.56 and had a total of ten players named N.F.C.A. All-American Scholar Athletes. To date, this program has produced forty-five Academic All-Americans. The girls are the epitome of what student-athletes should be and they have enjoyed tremendous success on the field as well as in the classroom. They have won their 20th League Championship in twenty- four years, their 10th County Title, 9th Long Island Crown and went to the State Finals. Their overall record of 543-75 is one of the top winning percentages in the country.
The N.F.C.A. All-American Scholar Athletes are: Taylor McGowan, Brianna Sullivan, Erika Sullivan, Betsy McNulty, Justine Gordy, Hope Zino, Liz Weber, Kelsey Fischer, Alyssa Leonard and Jaclyn Massoni.
