West Babylon man faces eviction; commits suicide

The Suffolk County Police Department Homicide Squad and the Sheriff's Department are investigating the suicide of a 40-year-old W. Babylon man.

Deputies assigned to the Suffolk County Sheriff's Department Eviction Unit arrived at 69 Claire Court, W. Babylon, this afternoon to enforce a court ordered Warrant to Remove. As two Sheriff's deputies entered the apartment and announced their presence, they heard a single gunshot from an upstairs bedroom. When they entered the room, they discovered the tenant, 40-year-old Joseph Milone, dead on his bed. He died from a single gunshot wound to the head.

Milone was taken to the Suffolk County Medical Examiner's Office in Hauppauge for a post mortem examination.
