Eagle Scout badge awarded in East Islip

Nicholas R. Gesslein, of Islip Terrace, will receive his Eagle Scout Badge at his Eagle Court of Honor at the Timber Point Elementary School, East Islip, Saturday, January 20, 2007, 1 p.m.

Gesslein is a member of Troop 205, sponsored by the Great River Fire Department, under the direction of his former Scoutmasters Glen Bernichon and Mike Capobianco, along with his current Scoutmaster Mark Businski. On his "road to Eagle," Gesslein served the troop as assistant senior patrol leader. He is a member of the Order of the Arrow, the Boy Scout Honorary Camping Society.

Gesslein is a senior at East Islip High School, where he will be graduating in June 2007. He plans to be a student at Universal Technical Institution, Exton, Pennsylvania.

He is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Gesslein of Islip Terrace and has a sister, Amy, a freshman at East Islip High School.
