Deborah Barbaro: resident of N. Babylon
by Tiffany Elliott

Deborah A. Barbaro, a gifted cook and homemaker who dedicated her life to others, died from complications of an accident on November 28, 2006. The North Babylon resident was 37 years old.

Born in Richmond Hills, Queens, she grew up in West Islip and graduated from its schools. She had lived on Strathmore Drive

for the past nine years.

According to her sister, Kim, she was selfless and always thought of others before herself.

"She was an awesome all-around person. She will be so missed," said her sister who said she loved to entertain family and friends, garden and gardening crafts. Most of all though, she was an accomplished chef who specialized in seafood and Italian dishes.

Mrs. Barbaro leaves behind her husband of 12 years, John M.; her children: John A. and Justin L.; her father, Louis C. Hosek; her siblings: Susan Naglieri, Louis Hosek and Kim Hosek; her in-laws: Grace and John; as well as other loved ones and friends. She was predeceased by her mother, Mae E. Hosek.

Mrs. Barbaro reposed at the Frederick J. Chapey & Sons West Islip, Funeral Home on December 1, 2006. A Celebration of the Liturgy of Christian Burial was held December 2 at Our Lady of Lourdes R.C. Church in West Islip followed by a private funeral.
